Mike Przygoda is a classical composer, jazz composer and arranger, and rock songwriter.  He is also a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, bass, piano, drums, vibraphone, harmonica, banjo, and several other instruments.  He studied guitar with Paddy Leitsch for five years.

He studied composition and performance at
Columbia College Chicago where his teachers included Frank Dawson, Sebastian Huydts, Gustavo Leone, Doug Lofstrom, and Philip Seward.  He has already written a large number of works, including an opera, a staged musical, chamber music, film scores, theater scores, and jazz and rock arrangements.  In December 2005 he had his works performed at Orchestra Hall.  He has released two albums of original chamber-pop both of which he performed most of the instruments on and produced. He performs with many bands regualrly around Chicago, in addition to leading his own band, The Cynics.

In 2005 he served as a musical director for the
Second City Touring Co.

Presently, he performs weekly with the world-reknowned comedy troupe,
Baby Wants Candy, is an accompianist at Improv Olympic. and is performing in the pit orchestra for Valentine Victorious.  In the recording world, he is producing two albums for local Chicago singers, is recording his third album of original material, and is appearing on numerous other recordings as a session musician.  He is continuing to arrange orchestral music for The Lira Ensemble, teaching private lessons, and sleeping once in awhile.
